Man arrested after assault in Lincoln

Man in hospital: A man has been arrested after an assault on Henley Street in Lincoln, off the lower High Street, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Lincoln in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 2.50am on April 20, on Henley Street in Lincoln, off the lower High Street, before the St Catherine’s roundabout.

A local man has been assaulted and was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening. His age has not been confirmed yet.

The area has been sealed while officers carry out investigations.

No weapons were involved in the assault, police said.

Lincolnshire Police later arrested a 27-year-old local man in relation to the incident and he is being questioned by officers.

Update on Monday, April 22: The man has been released and no further police action will be taken.
