Celebration of Lincoln Engineering

Engineering heritage: Lincoln celebrated one of its best sectors with an engineering event in and around the Cathedral for all to see.

Lincoln Cathedral is playing host to a celebration this Bank Holiday Weekend in honour of the engineering achievements of the city.

Inside and outside the Cathedral, visitors can take part in a go-kart challenge, an open top bus tour and view a variety of vehicles, plus see exhibitions from Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire and the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology, alongside many other attractions.

Inside the cathedral, a long interactive timeline by Optima displays progress of engineering in the city, from the Romans to the present day. The timeline is over 50 feet in length. Representatives from a variety of local engineering firms, including Siemens, Dynex and Micrometrics, are on hand throughout the event to talk to people about engineering, from their job roles to getting into the field.

The event runs from May 25 until May 27. Entry to the Cathedral is free on Saturday and Sunday, but normal charges apply on Monday.
