Lincoln toddler seriously injured on family holiday

Serious injuries: A young girl from Lincoln was injured after she became trapped underneath a car at a campsite whilst on family holiday in Cumbria.

A toddler from Lincoln was seriously injured after she became trapped underneath a car at a campsite whilst on family holiday in Cumbria.

The incident happened Lanefoot Farm campsite, near Keswick, at around 9.55am on May 12.

The 20-month-old toddler became trapped underneath a Volkswagen Touran people carrier.

She was air-lifted to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries to her head, pelvis and leg.

Doctors say she is in a serious but stable condition, and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Cumbria Constabulary say there are presently no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
