Our Big Gig at Lincoln Arboretum

Big Arboretum gig: As part of a national event, Lincoln Arboretum came alive with music for the local community.

Our Big Gig weekend, a national community music festival, took place across the country on July 14, including an event in Lincoln Arboretum.

The aim of the event was to bring local people together.

Our Big Gig in the Arboretum was inspired by 15-year-old local Eleni Taylor, and organised by local residents of the Abbey Ward neighbourhood with help from the area’s Community Organiser, Maaike Veenkamp, and SoundLINCS, who secured the funding.

Over 500 people attended the event, taking part in music workshops, litter picking, giant bubble making and other activities, plus live music from the park’s bandstand, refreshments and stalls.
