City museum hosts beach craft event

Fun in the sun: A Lincoln museum will host a family craft event with a seaside theme.

Lincoln residents and visitors stopping at Lincoln by The Sea in August should also visit a city museum to get more beach fun into their day.

The Museum of Lincolnshire Life in uphill Lincoln will host a Summer Seaside Craft Day on August 1.

The event will encourage families to get crafty in a range of activities, all with a seaside theme.

In addition to the events, visitors can also cool off with an ice cream.

Theresa Workman, collections access officer, said: “People can try their hand at sand sculptures, add to our giant rock pool, make sparkly octopus key-rings and starfish fridge magnets, and then cool themselves down with their very own handmade fan.

“It all takes place around our wonderful new play area in the courtyard, where you can enjoy an ice cream in the sunshine.”

The Summer Seaside Craft Day runs from 10am until 3.30pm and the Museum is free to enter.

Other craft events happening throughout the day will cost £1 to take part in.
