Station awards: A staff member at Lincoln Central has got an award for his hard work.

An East Midlands Trains (EMT) employee working at Lincoln Central has been recognised for his hard work at an annual awards ceremony.

Stuart Scott, Senior Conductor at Lincoln received an award from the Best Stations Awards 2013, run by East Midlands Trains.

He gained the award due to his work within the station’s team.

Scott helped ensure that local stations were clear of snow and ice throughout the winter months, and often worked extra hours early in the morning and late at night.

He was one of five employees across the region to receive an award, with other prizes going on good customer services, dedication and team support.

Meanwhile, a number of stations also won awards for Best Small Station, Best Medium Station, Best Large Station, Most Improved station and the Community Partnership Award.

These went to Melton Mowbray, Loughborough, Sheffield, Matlock and Longton.

Andy Moore, Head of Stations for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re pleased to have been able to recognise so many stations and people in this year’s awards.

“As the first point of contact our customers have when they travel with East Midlands Trains, it’s vital that our employees provide a station they take pride in as well as delivering great customer service.

“We have some great stations and it’s always a tough task choosing the winners, but we were pleased to see such a range of high quality entries again this year and our congratulations go to all the winners.”
