Council serves notice to nuisance Lincoln advertiser

No sale: The County Council have taken legal action against a nuisance ad board in Lincoln after residents complained on Twitter.

Lincolnshire County Council has taken action against a nuisance advertising billboard on a busy Lincoln road after numerous complaints.

The council is taking legal action on roadside ad boards after complaints from residents on Twitter.

One board in particular that attracted negative attention is the driveway trailer on Carholme Road just after the Grandstand, on the verge.

Despite attempting to speak to the owners amicably about its removal, the council has since initiated legal action.

Councillor Richard Davies, Executive Member for Highways and Transportation, said: “This is an important issue for local people so I’m keen to get it resolved as soon as possible.

“We’ve served a notice under section 143 of the Highway Act 1980, providing the owners with 28 days to remove the trailer.

“If they do not remove the trailer we will remove it on conclusion of the 28 day period.

“We will then apply to the Magistrates Court for all costs incurred during removal and ask the court for a disposal order.”
