Local teen runs to raise money for Lincoln hospital

Well done Mollie! Local teenager raised almost £400 for Lincoln County Hospital after running the Lincoln 10k.

A local teenager has raised money for the Intensive Care Unit at Lincoln County Hospital by running a 10k race.

Mollie Denton (16) raised over £360 for the department, which she managed to raise while taking part in the Lincoln 10k in April.

She decided to raise money for the hospital unit in memory of her granddad, Brian Ravenscroft, who was a patient at ICU, and passed away in January 2011 at 72-years-old.

Mollie was compelled to run for ICU “because of the excellent care that granddad received”.

The money will be used to purchase new equipment to help improve patient care within the ward.

Sally Jackman, Sister and Service Improvement Lead for the ICU, said: “We would like to thank Mollie for her very generous donation.

“We greatly appreciate the support of individuals, staff and members the public to provide us with the much needed services for our patients. All donations to the ICU go towards improving patient care and experience.”
