Man charged with meat cleaver threats at Lincoln Jobcentre

Meat cleaver incident: A Lincoln man has been charged with threatening people with a bladed item and assault following an incident at the city Jobcentre.

A Lincoln man has been charged with threatening people with a bladed item and assault following an incident at the city Jobcentre on Wednesday.

Anthony Craig English (38) of Doughty’s Court, Lincoln, has been charged and remanded in police custody.

The incident happened at around 2.42pm on November 27 at the Jobcentre on Orchard Street.

Police attended the scene after reports of a man threatening staff with a meat cleaver.

A number of people were evacuated from the building. Officers negotiated with the man, who surrendered his weapon. He was then arrested.
