200 Lincoln students create Lip Dub video

Student LipDub: A LipDub-inspired video featuring over 200 Lincoln students has been released to promote youth activities and opportunities in the city.

A Lip Dub-inspired video featuring over 200 Lincoln students has been released to promote youth activities and opportunities in the city.

The musical video has been produced by the Ultimate Film School, who provide film-making tutorials and hands-on filming experience to 14-20 year olds in the area.

The Lip Dub video features students from the Ultimate Rock & Film School, the Activities Away Centre, North Hykeham Tae Kwondo Club, CheerStars Cheerleading, Extreme NK, and local skaters, miming to ‘Pompeii’, by popular band Bastille.

The project, which was filmed in November 2013, promotes a range of opportunities in the area and was inspired by the Lincoln Lip Dub.

Manager of the Ultimate Film Studios Lincoln, Nicci Snook, said: “The project was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“The 200 students (in front of and behind the camera) were so patient with 4 hours of filming in the cold.

“Dan Smith, lead singer of Bastille, and Universal Music gave us their support for this project and allowed us to use the track ‘Pompeii’ to help promote youth organisations in Lincoln.

“After a lot of hard work and late nights, the video has just been released onto YouTube and we want to raise awareness of the fantastic opportunities that Lincoln offers it’s young people.

“At the Ultimate Rock and Film School we look to inspire and give confidence to all our students and give them the opportunities of being involved in the music and film industry with support all the way including guitar, singing, drum lessons, band programme, professional recording and music video production.”

Ultimate Film School student, Jessica McClory, said: “It was amazing to take part in the Pompeii Youth Organisations Project.  The atmosphere on set made everyone feel relaxed, all the clubs were really friendly and everyone enjoyed themselves, even though it was cold!

“It was fantastic to see the final film, and feel proud of the finished piece that our Film School have achieved!”
