New children’s play area opens in Lincoln

Kids’ park: After requests from local families, a housing developer built a new outdoor play area for children in Lincoln.

Children living in the west of Lincoln now have a new place to play outdoors, after the opening of a new games court.

The court, by Derwent Living, opened this week off Ruston Way, near Saul House, as part of the housing provider’s scheme.

The play park cost £60,000 to build and was installed by Westleigh Developments, the firm which also built the 200 houses and flats in the area.

Mitch Allseybrook, resident involvement manager, said: “This is a large scheme which was built over several years.

“This gave us the opportunity to consult with residents in how we finished the development.

“Parents said that they would value the provision of a safe play area for children close to their homes. This new play area meets that need and is a real asset to the scheme.

“After the formal opening we organised some games and coaching activities so the kids could see how they can get the best out of it.”
