Great Witham Duck Race swims through Lincoln

Lincoln duck race: A charity duck race saw thousands of yellow ducks float through the city centre on River Witham.

The Lincoln Lions Club 33rd Great Witham Duck Race returned to Brayfod Pool on May 3, releasing a sea of yellow ducks in the river.

The race, which raises money for Age UK Lincoln, started at the Wigford Way bridge over Brayford Pool, with almost 2,000 plastic ducks being dropped into the river.

The ducks then floated along the Glory Hole, under High Bridge and all the way to the finish line near the The Witch and Wardrobe pub.

Each duck was numbered, and people could buy a £1 ticket in order to secure a duck in the race.

The winning duck was number 1,001, earning the lucky ticket holder £150.
