No burglaries in Lincoln for 61 hours during police campaign

No burglaries in two days: No burglaries were reported in Lincoln within 61 hours during a Lincolnshire Police campaign against the rising issue.

The force’s Help Yourself campaign was launched last week after figures since May revealed 168 reported burglaries.

As previously reported, the first 36 hours after the campaign launch saw six burglaries reported in the city and surrounding villages.

Lincolnshire Police’s Crime Calendar, which is updated every 48 hours, has been set up to record reported burglaries throughout the city.

Between 8am on Tuesday, July 29 and 8am on Thursday July 31 just one other burglary was reported – a 83.33% decrease from the previous entry made in the calendar.

The incident on Dixon Street in Lincoln occurred between 5pm and 7pm on Monday, July 28.

Offenders are believed to have accessed the property via an insecure rear door. A Samsung laptop and two bank cards were taken.
