Open prison absconder hands himself in to police in Lincoln

Back in custody: A Lincoln man who absconded from an open prison in the south of the county has handed himself in to police in Lincoln.

A Lincoln man who absconded from an open prison in the south of the county handed himself in at Lincoln Police Station on Wednesday morning.

Timothy Riggott (41), who was serving a sentence for burglary and theft, absconded from HMP North Sea Camp, near Boston, on Thursday, July 10.

Originally from the Lincoln area, he left the prison on foot and had no money with him, and police believed he was attempting to travel to the city.

Then, on the morning of July 16, he handed himself in at Lincoln Police Station. He is now in police custody.
