Two bush fires: Two fires were started at the bottom of the same Lincoln street and one of them is thought to be deliberate.

Two fires were started at the bottom of the same Lincoln street in one day, and one of them is thought to be deliberate.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called to the first bush blaze on Walcot Close, near Swanholme Lakes, at 11.22am on Monday, July 28.

The blaze measured 3m by 10m and was extinguished using one hosereel.

Officers say the fire was caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette.

The second bush blaze was reported to firefighters later that day at 1.56pm, on the same street.

The second fire caused damage to 30 square metres of hedgerow.

Firefighters believe the second fire was started deliberately and investigations are ongoing into the incident.

No one was injured as a result of either of the incidents.

Anyone with information is advised to call Lincolnshire Police on the 101 number.
