Lincolnshire Police: It only takes a minute to burgle your home

Help yourself: Lincolnshire Police are raising awareness of burglary prevention with a demonstrative video, as part of their Help Yourself campaign.

Lincolnshire Police are raising awareness of burglary prevention with a demonstrative video, as part of their Help Yourself campaign.

The campaign, which warns of the dangers of a property insecurity, has so far highlighted a rise in the crime in Lincoln.

In the first 8 days since the Help Yourself launch, 11 burglaries were reported in Lincoln.

Police are warning that a burglar can get into an insecure property and search for any high-value electrical items in less than a minute.

Stewart Brinn, Chief Inspector of Lincoln and West Lindsey, said: “If burglars start to notice that people are keeping their homes more secure, they will stop even trying to get into them.”
