Case dropped after woman allegedly assaulted in Lincoln village

Report withdrawn: Police are looking for witnesses after a woman was allegedly attacked whilst jogging last week.

— Later update: Lincolnshire Police have stopped the investigation into the case after the report has been withdrawn.


A young woman was allegedly assaulted by a man when jogging through a village near Lincoln.

The incident happened on Main Drive in Sudbrooke at around 8pm on Friday, August 1.

The 18-year-old woman was jogging in a wooded area when she was grabbed from behind, then pushed over.

The reason of the attack is not clear, and she suffered minor scratches due to the incident.

As she was grabbed from behind, the victim could not give a detailed description of the man.

Lincolnshire Police are asking anyone with any information to call 101 quoting incident reference number 428 of August 1.
