Four men arrested over football disorder at Lincoln – Grimsby match

Steward also injured: Four local men have been arrested over foot-related disorder at the Lincoln v Grimsby match.

Four local men have been arrested over football-related disorder at the Lincoln v Grimsby (3-2) match on September 9, while a steward has suffered a head injury.

Three of the men were from the Lincoln area. One 22-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a police officer. A 20-year-old man was arrested for breaching S5 of the Public Oder Act and a 49-year-old man was arrested for affray. A 26-year-old Louth man was also arrested for affray.

The arrested men will be interviewed on Wednesday.

During the match, a 41-year-old steward within the ground was knocked to the floor after a chair was thrown.

The man was one of the stewards from Grimsby who had travelled to the match to assist the Lincoln City stewards.

He suffered a head injury which was treated at the ground, he did not require hospital treatment. Police are investigating the incident concerning the steward.
