Lincoln road closed for four days of resurfacing works

Road improvements: Rasen Lane in uphill Lincoln will be closed for four days of resurfacing works and diversions will be in place for the duration.

Rasen Lane in uphill Lincoln will be closed for four days for resurfacing works, and diversions will be in place for the duration.

The repairs will start Monday, September 29, and will finish on Thursday, October 2, weather permitting.

During this time, a diversion route will be in place and residents’ access will be maintained as much as possible. Traffic will be diverted using Burton Road and Newport.

Cecil Street will be open to two-way traffic and other roads in the area will be open as normal.

Residents have received letters making them aware of the closure, and signs for motorists will be put up in advance.

During the works, there will be changes to Stagecoach Bus Services 7 and 8, which serve Burton Road and the Ermine.

These buses will not pick up passengers on Burton Rd between Rasen Lane and the Yarborough Road/Yarborough Crescent roundabout.

Passengers will instead need to use the bus stops on Newport. The rest of the route, however, will be unaffected.

Principal Highways Officer Dave Underwood said: “The road will be closed off while we’re resurfacing, but we’ll minimise the inconvenience by giving residents as much access as possible.

“Carrying out this work now will mean we don’t have to revisit Rasen Lane for repairs for many years.”
