Elderly man dies after Newark Road scooter collision

Fatal collision: The elderly man involved in a traffic collision on Newark Road in Lincoln on October 17 has died.

The elderly man involved in a traffic collision on Newark Road in Lincoln on October 17 has died.

As previously reported, the 82-year-old local man was riding a mobility scooter in the cycle lane on Newark Road when he was knocked off by a vehicle at around 11.50am on Friday.

He was heading into Lincoln, near Doddington Road junction, when he was stuck from behind.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lincoln County Hospital, before transferring to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he died on October 21.

A post mortem is expected to be carried out later this week.

Officer are currently looking to speak to an elderly couple who may have been driving a small red car which was on the scene.

Both are described as being smartly dressed, 60-70 years old, the gentleman was wearing beige trousers and a cream body warmer.
