Online phone retailer Mobiles.co.uk is hosting the tool, which was created by OpenSignal.

All data on the map is crowd-sourced in order to give a reflection of the coverage and limitations of each area.

Vodafone appears to be the strongest performing provider in Lincoln for 2G, 3G and 4G signals, with response times (Ping) of 194 ms and a reliability recorded by users of 100%.

EE had been recorded as top for download speed at 3.46 Mbps.

Using advance settings, people can see the average speeds available in certain areas for different networks.

According to the map, the average 4G speed across the UK is 14.7Mbps, with the strongest signal in the largest cities.

EE, which covers over 300 towns and cities (around 75% of the UK) offers the best overall performance.
