New signage rounds off £9m Lincoln shopping centre revamp

£9 million improvements: Waterside Shopping marked the completion of its £9 million redevelopment by unveiling its new external signage.

Waterside Shopping marked the completion of its £9 million redevelopment by unveiling its new external signage.

The final phase of the project, which began in April last year, was completed on November 6 with a new sign to replace the original icon arc.

The 875 x 8550mm fascia features individual stainless steel letters with white halo illuminations. It is located at the High Street entrance of the shopping centre.

Additional signage has also been installed throughout the centre including two, large 8505 x 3605mm display cases on the Riverside entrance showcasing the latest fashions, along with seven 6450mm tall retailer banners situated on both the High Street and Riverside walls.

The redevelopment, which was funded by Capital & Regional, the specialist property that operates the Waterside, consisted of reconfiguring existing units and repositioning escalators to create two double height units that now house fashion giants H&M and Next.

The project also included relocating the food court from the upper level to the waterside level and New Look’s makeover.

This week, The Body Shop made a return to the shopping centre after making way for the new layout.

Roy Greening, General Manager at Waterside Shopping, commented: “It’s exciting to see our new brand image proudly displayed at the front of the mall!

“It’s the perfect final touch for the huge transformation that has been going on in the centre since April last year.

“Not only does our signage show off our new look to shoppers, but it also highlights that we are a modern shopping centre and the place to go for all the latest fashions and trends.”
