Lincoln UTC gets new engineering partner

new employer-partner: Lincoln UTC have partnered with Morgan Tucker for a programme to seek out the award-winning engineers of the future.

Lincoln University Technical College (UTC) have partnered up with Morgan Tucker for a programme to seek out the award-winning engineers of the future.

Newark-based company Morgan Tucker has become an ‘employer-partner’ to the college, which means it will support students at the college interested in a career in engineering to get their foot in the door of the industry from an early age.

Lincoln UTC provides 14 to 18-year-olds with the opportunity of combining core subjects, for example in maths and English, with highly specialised studies in engineering and science.

Matthew Tucker, Managing director at Morgan Tucker, said the company is closely involved in the design and delivery of the science and engineering elements of the curriculum at the college.

Each course module is delivered hand-in-hand with Morgan Tucker, ensuring that the academic and technical education delivered to students is relevant and up to date. This allows students to experience the theoretical elements of their courses in academic and practical ways.

Matthew Tucker said: “At Morgan Tucker we are passionate about ensuring engineering is seen as an exciting and rewarding career for the next generation of school leavers, and we are keen to meet with and get to know as many would-be engineers as possible.

“Our new partnership with Lincoln UTC means that this passion can be put in to action.”

“Engineering and science offer students strong career opportunities in the future – locally, nationally and internationally.

“Our link with the college is a positive step for young engineers in the area and will offer them the business and technical skills they need to get them ready for the workplace.”
