The Superbowl facility on Tritton Road in Lincoln will close in January 2015 – resulting in 18 job losses.

As previously reported, the future of Lincoln’s city centre bowling alley was uncertain after it went up for sale or let in September.

The marketing of the 24,500 sq ft building near the Valentine Retail Park is being managed by Chartered Surveyors Banks Long & Co, however it is unconfirmed whether a sale has been agreed.

Staff at Superbowl in Lincoln confirmed that the business would be closed by administrators in late January and 18 members of staff would be made redundant.

The building was originally occupied by Odeon, before the Cinema moved to its current Braford location.

The property is also currently held on a 125-year long lease, granted on May 3, 1995. The ground rent payable under the lease is a peppercorn and the freehold interest is owned by the City of Lincoln Council.
