Illegal rave shut down: Two men have been arrested over drug offences at an illegal rave at industrial units close to the Saxilby village near Lincoln.

Two men have been arrested in connection with drug offences at an illegal rave in industrial units close to the Saxilby village near Lincoln.

At around midnight on Saturday, December 20, Lincolnshire Police received reports of an illegal rave in Saxilby and they say around 15 people were involved.

Officers were dispatched to the scene to deal with the gathering. They closed the A57/Skellingthorpe Road at the crossing to prevent access to the site.

Some officers sent to shut down the illegal rave were authorised to carry tasers. Tasers were produced (taken out) but were not used.

Police arrested two men in connection with drugs offences: a 33-year-old man on suspicion of possession of class B drugs, and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Both men were later bailed pending further enquiries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and a number of lines of enquiry are still being carried out.

Lincolnshire Police also warned anyone thinking of holding or attending any similar event that their response will be swift and legislation will be enforced as appropriate.
