Monument theft: Two brass squadron plaques have been stolen from an air base war memorial near Lincoln.

Two brass squadron plaques have been stolen from an air base war memorial near Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police officers are investigating the theft of the two badges from the war memorial at Wickenby Airfield.

It is believed that the theft may have taken place at some point over a two-week period from around February 24 to March 10.

Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could help find those responsible.

Anyone who witnessed strange behaviour around the area of the monument, or has any information relating to the theft, should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 238 of March 10.
