Altogether, 59 hopeful candidates are in the battle for votes for the 11 councillor positions in the City of Lincoln Council elections on May 7.

They represent 6 parties: Conservative, Green, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) and UKIP.

No Lincolnshire Independents have been fielded in this local election.

Voters have until the end of Monday, April 20 to register, the deadline for postal vote registration is Tuesday, April 21 at 5pm, and those applying for proxy vote must do so by Tuesday, April 28 by 5pm.

Polling commences at 7am, and closes at 10pm. The local elections count and results will take place after the results of the parliamentary vote are announced.
