Police name stabbing victim in Lincoln murder probe

Murder probe: Lincolnshire Police have formally named the man who died after he was stabbed in Walnut Place in Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police have formally named the man who died after he was stabbed in Walnut Place in the Portland Street area of Lincoln.

He was 39-year-old Robert James Taylor from Lincoln.

As previously reported, he was stabbed on Friday evening, April 17, and died in hospital from his injuries.

As part of a murder investigation, a man aged 42 and a woman aged 28 have been arrested. They remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Holvey of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (Major Crime) is leading the investigation. He said: “This is a tragedy for the deceased man and his family and friends.

“We are working hard to establish what happened. To that end officers will be conducting house to house enquires in the area. We need to build up a picture of the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.”
