Elderly woman suffers serious head injury in Lincoln car incident

Head injuries: An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital after an incident on the Bishop Grosseteste University campus in Lincoln.

An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury after an incident involving a car at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln.

The incident was reported to Lincolnshire Police at 10.20am on Thursday, June 4 and emergency services attended near to the university entrance on Longdales Road.

The woman, who was said to have been visiting The Venue cinema on campus, was transported by air ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Officers say it is thought the woman fell when leaving the car, suffering the severe head injury.

Lincolnshire Police are currently investigating the cause of the injury. Anyone with information is being asked to call 101, quoting incident number 127.
