The British Cycling National Road Championships have arrived in Lincoln with an exciting uphill sprint kicking off the city’s biggest ever cycling event on the evening of June 26.

The amateur cyclists’ uphill dash is a 400m power ride from the top of Michaelgate to the road race finish line in Castle Square.

First, there was an individual time trial, which then switched to a four rider format, heats and semi-finals.

Thousands of people are expected to be visiting Lincoln during the Grand Festival of Cycling and events are taking place throughout the weekend, culminating with the National Road Race on Sunday, June 28.

The British Cycling National Road Race Championships are the most valued single day event on the British Cycling road racing calendar with the winners wearing the National Champion jersey for the ensuing year.
