The base said it expects the last sortie to take place at 11.15pm on Tuesday, June 16, 11.45pm on Wednesday, and 9.20pm on Thursday.

A spokesperson at the base said this is part of usual night flying training schedule for pilots to hone their operational skills.

On Monday the last sortie was at 11.59pm and no night flying is planned to take place on Friday, June 19.

Due to ongoing works on the runway at RAF Waddington, part of the aircraft and personnel from the base have been temporarily relocated to RAF Coningsby.
