North Hykeham councillor stands down due to ill health

Election needed: The councillor position for the North Hykeham Mill ward will need to be filled with an election after Jill Wilson stood down.

A by-election will be called to fill the position of the North Hykeham Mill ward on North Kesteven District Council after councillor Jill Wilson stood down.

A North Kesteven District Council spokesperson said: “The decision for Councillor Wilson to step down is due to ill health. She wishes all her colleagues at NKDC all the best in future.

“In accordance with legislation we require two local government electors to call for an election, in writing, to the Chief Executive of the Council. An election would then be called within 35 days.”

The notice of vacancy was given by Returning Officer Ian Fytche on Wednesday, June 24.

The election to fill the vacancy for the Electoral Ward will be held after notice has been given by two local government electors for the area.
