Main sponsor needed for popular Lincoln Santa Fun Run

Title sponsor needed: The Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk needs a new sponsor for this year’s popular event.

Preparations are already underway for the annual event which sees a stream of red and white Santas race through uphill Lincoln, but this year’s fundraiser is in need of a sponsor.

Last Christmas, the Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk drew in a record breaking number of participants and spectators, and organisers from the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia are hoping for even better this year.

Almost 2,500 runners, walkers and dogs are expected to take part in the 2015 event on December 13, all to raise money for some very deserving local charities.

Set to benefit from the Santa Fun Run this year are the Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation, Matt’s Fund, Umbrellas Lincoln, St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice, Alzheimers Society, Samaritans (Lincoln), Candles, LIVES, Linkage Community Trust, and local Rotary Charities.

Last year the fundraising total for those charities came in at £83,681, over £20,000 higher than what was raised in 2013.

Since the first event in 2006, the Lincoln Santa run has raised £379,977.

The new title sponsor will be able to promote their brand on the event’s entry forms, competitor’s numbers, finisher’s medals, regular ‘Elf & Fitness’ e-newsletters, and other opportunities along the route.

Event Director and Rotarian Chris Illsley said: “The Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk is a fun and festive day which brings the whole community together for some very deserving causes.

“Being title sponsor is a great opportunity for a business of any size to engage with the local community and enhance the appeal of their brand whilst also contributing towards raising money for charity.”
