Funeral for Tunisia terror attack victim Carly Lovett to take place next week

Date announced: The funeral of murdered University of Lincoln graduate Carly Lovett will be held next Friday.

The funeral of 24-year-old University of Lincoln graduate Carly Lovett, murdered in the Tunisian terrorist attack last month, will be held next Friday.

Carly, a fashion blogger and photographer from Gainsborough, was killed when electrical engineering student Seifiddine Rezgui Yacoubi opened fire in the beach resort of Port El Kantaoui, about 10 kilometres north of the city of Sousse, on June 26.

Some 30 of the 38 people who died in the Islamic State attack were British.

Carly’s funeral will be held at All Saints’ Parish Church, Gainsborough on Friday, July 17 at 11.15am.

Police will be present in the grounds of the church to ensure the unhindered arrival and departure of the cortege.

Reverend Canon Mike Cooney and the family have requested that there are no cameras or recording devices in the church.

There will be a private crematorium service and a reception which will be by invitation only, which takes place after the church service.

A book of remembrance is available for signing in All Saints’ Church until Thursday, July 16.
