Nominations open for Lincolnshire hospital staff heroes

Nominations open: The public are being invited to nominate members of staff at Lincolnshire’s hospitals who have gone the extra mile in their work.

Members of the public, patients and carers are being invited to nominate unsung heroes who have gone the extra mile in their work at Lincolnshire’s hospitals.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has opened nominations for its annual Staff Awards to celebrate the achievements of hospital staff who have shown commitment to providing high quality care in the county.

There are 13 award categories in total which range from staff showing compassion and respect to providing great leadership.

A new award for this year has been introduced, with nominations only to be accepted from patients themselves.

The Great Patient Experience Award is about recognising individual staff or teams who have made a significant impact upon improving the patient experience either in their work area or across the whole hospital.

Ron Buchanan, chairman of ULHT, said: “Our staff awards are a great showcase for the wonderful work our colleagues do on a daily basis.

“I am really pleased that nominations are now open throughout the year and would encourage everyone to put forward individuals and teams deserving of broader recognition.”

All entries will be assessed by a shortlisted panel and will be put forward to a judging panel by the end of January next year, with an awards ceremony taking place in March.

To nominate a member of staff, visit ULHT’s website or pick up a nomination form from the main reception or outpatient department at one of the hospitals in the county.

The trust is also accepting video nominations which may be shown at the awards ceremony.
