Fatal collision: A 53-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Lincoln, police have confirmed.

A 53-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Lincoln, police have confirmed.

The crash took place at the junction of Tritton Road with Skellingthorpe Road at around 3.45pm on August 11.

A white Triumph Bonneville motorcycle ridden by a Lincoln man collided with a silver Audi TT car driven by a 25-year-old Lincoln woman.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and the driver of the Audi was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

She has since been released on police bail to return to Lincoln Police Station when the force’s enquires are complete.

The road was closed until 7.40pm.

Investigating officers are keen to interview anyone who witnessed the crash who they did not speak to yesterday.

Witnesses should call the 101 non-emergency number or the collision witness hotline on 01522 558855 and quote incident number 335 of August 11.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are in the process of informing the family and friends of the deceased about the incident.

“It is unlikely that we will be in a position to name him until much later today at the earliest.”
