Police search for man who punched a Lincoln woman in the face at Newcastle train station

Train station attack: A Lincoln woman was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by a man at Newcastle Railway Station.

A 21-year-old Lincoln woman was left with a split lip and was ‘extremely shaken’ after being punched in the face by a man at Newcastle Railway Station.

The attack happened at around 3.40am in Newcastle station car park on Friday, September 25.

The victim was said to have been walking through the car park with her friend when they become involved in an argument with a stranger.

He then punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground before running away.

British Transport Police are appealing to trace a man they believe may be able to help with enquires.

PC David Waggott said: “This was a violent and unprovoked assault which left the victim with a cut lip and extremely shaken.”
