Five accused of imprisoning and torturing victim appear at Lincoln Crown Court

Imprisonment charges: Police arrested four men and one woman after a man alleged he was tied up, threatened with an imitation firearm and then attacked.

Five people who were arrested following an armed police operation in Gainsborough have on Monday, December 14 appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

Police arrested four men and one woman after a man alleged he was tied up, threatened with an imitation firearm and then attacked.

The police operation, which involved specialist response teams, centred around an address in Ashcroft Road on Sunday, November 15, where the alleged victim claimed he was held against his will.

Five people were charged by Lincolnshire Police on Tuesday, November 17, in relation to the alleged incident.

Vidas Aleksandravicius, 48, of Parnell Street in Gainsborough and Jurgita Makaroviene, 33, of Ashcroft Road in Gainsborough, have been charged with false imprisonment.

Aivaras Sepronas, 42, of Ashcroft Road in Gainsborough, has been charged with false imprisonment and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Andrius Svetickas, 25, of Parnell Street in Gainsborough, and Egidijus Zukauskas, 42, of Ashcroft Road in Gainsborough, have been charged with false imprisonment and possession of a controlled class B drug.

All five spoke only to confirm their names when they appeared at Lincoln Crown Court today.

No pleas were entered and Judge John Pini QC adjourned the case for a plea and case management hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on February 22, next year.

If the case proceeds to trial it will be heard at Lincoln Crown Court on May 16 and is expected to last two weeks.

All five defendants were remanded in to custody until their next court appearance.
