The road at the Lincoln High Street level crossing will be completely closed to traffic on three occasions over the next few weeks.

A previous restriction for January 16 – 17 has been cancelled.

Lincolnshire County Council’s highways division will impose restrictions to all traffic from:

  • 8pm, January 23 – 10am, January 24
  • 8pm, January 30 – 10am, January 31
  • 8pm, February 6 – 10am, February 7

A council spokesperson said: “Adequate arrangements will be made to enable pedestrians to access premises in the affected area while works progress.

“Closures will be implemented as and when required during periods above, signage detailing accurate dates & times will be displayed on site in advance.”

Motorists in the area will find alternative routes at Wigford Way, Brayford Wharf East & St Marks Street.

Drivers have already experienced delays and restrictions in the area around the level crossing for a number of months due to works to build a footbridge over the crossing.

After a number of delays, the bridge is set to be completed in May 2017.
