Funeral announced for grandparents killed in Metheringham crash

Funeral details announced: A funeral will be held this month for an elderly Lincolnshire couple who died after a crash in Metheringham.

A funeral will be held this month for an elderly Lincolnshire couple who died within days of each other after a horror crash near Lincoln.

As previously reported, Brian and Ruth Dickinson, aged 82 and 77, were involved in a serious collision with a lorry on the B1188 Sleaford Road in Metheringham on Monday, January 11.

Ruth, who was a passenger in the car her husband was driving died soon after the crash.

Brian was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, but sadly died three days later.

The family of the couple from the Woohdall Spa area released a fitting tribute to the “proud” grandparents, affectionately known as ‘Grannie and Grandpa Greengrass”.

Friends, family and those wishing to pay their respects to Brian and Ruth are invited to attend their funeral service.

The family have released the following details:

“Ruth tragically died on January 11 aged 77 years, followed by Brian, aged 82 years, on January 14.

“Loving parents of Karen and Lynne, proud grandparents to Jack, Henry, Jake and Bunty.

“Private cremation followed by a celebration of their lives at St Peters Church, Woodhall Spa, on February 19 at 2.30pm.

“No flowers by request, donations if desired to Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance.”
