Lincolnshire road closed after “very serious” lorry crash

‘Very serious’: Emergency services have been scrambled to the scene of a major collision on a Lincolnshire road.

Emergency services have been scrambled to the scene of what’s been described as a “very serious” crash in the south of the county.

The collision happened on the A16 near Spalding at around 4pm on Friday, February 26.

The road has been closed at the Sutterton and Gosberton roundabouts and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

The collision involves a car and a lorry but police have stated no further information is available at the time of publishing.

An update will be issued in due course.

The crash is the second in the area within 24 hours. Two cars collided on the A16 Spalding bypass at around 7.40am. A 52-yar-old woman was injured, however injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
