Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist crashed into a young boy in Lincoln, leaving him with a broken leg, before pedalling off.

The eight-year-old boy was walking out of a front gate on Cannon Street when a male cyclist who was riding on the pavement hit him.

He allegedly didn’t stop and was seen to ride off towards the city centre. The boy was taken to hospital and suffered a broken leg.

The collision occurred at around 7.50pm on Thursday, March 17.

The cyclist is described as a man, dressed all in black riding a black cycle.

Sergeant Tom Richardson from Lincolnshire Police is appealling for the cyclist to get in touch, stating “he may not realise the young boy was injured”.

We would also like to speak to anyone who has any information or who may have witnessed the collision to make contact by calling 101 quoting incident 376 of March 17.
