Officers investigating the deaths of two men within four days in Boston said it’s believed they suffered ‘adverse reaction to a particular batch’ of heroin.

As previously reported, the body of a 42 year-old man was discovered on Union Street after the body of a 22 year-old man was found one mile away on Fenside Road just four days before.

Police say they had both been involved in the use of heroin, with their suffering thought to be connected to the same batch.

Toxicology tests will be completed in time and formal identifications of the men have not yet been made.

Police are in the meantime advising users of illegal drugs to be aware of the dangers and encourage them to seek the help of organisations such as Addaction.
