Council officers are pursuing the removal of caravans which have been parked at a North Hykeham sports centre over the weekend.
The six vehicles have taken up a number of spaces at the North Kesteven Centre car park off Moor Lane.
North Kesteven District Council stated that officers were made aware that four caravans pitched up on Wednesday, March 16.
Two more vehicles then arrived on site over the weekend.
Officers were sent to request that the caravans vacate the site on the morning of Monday, March 21.
The council is now pursuing legal proceedings to evacuate the group.
A North Kesteven District Council spokesperson said: “We became aware on Wednesday of an initial encampment of four caravans at the NK Sports Centre.
“Officers of the council visited and spoke to the group who indicated that it was their intention to have moved by the weekend.
“As a precautionary measure the council initiated proceedings to require then to vacate the land, but this has not yet received consideration by the County Court.
“Over the weekend a further two caravans arrived on site and the council continues to pursue its course of legal action, with papers due to be served on the group today.
“The matter is with our solicitors and we are currently awaiting confirmation of a court date for a hearing, where we will be applying to the County Court Judge for an possession order that will require the encampment to leave the site.
“In the meantime, the district council has endured that measures are in place for waste disposal.”
It isn’t the first time travellers have caused disruption at the North Kesteven Centre car park, with 10 caravans taking up an area of the site in June 2015.
