Lincoln is in line for heavy rain for around 14 hours through Wednesday, March 9, according to a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office.
According to the chief forecaster, persistent rain will fall from 1am until around 3pm, accompanied by windy conditions.
Rain is likely to produce some flooding and difficult driving conditions and some sleet or snow is expected on high ground.
The chief forecaster has predicted: “Widespread rainfall accumulations of 20 to 30 mm are expected, and very locally 50 to 60 mm could fall.
“Any snowfall amounts at low levels are very uncertain and will be very much dependent on precipitation rates, readily turning back to rain as intensities ease.”
