Hundreds of children concluded their Easter break this weekend by learning about food, farming and Lincolnshire heritage at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Countryside Lincs returned for a second year to teach youngsters and their families about the field-to-fork process in an informative day out.

Visitors to the event on Sunday, April 10 were able to interact with farmyard animals big and small, as well as try their hands at a number of crafts.

Local producers and farmers were on hand to demonstrate different farming methods and showing where our foods come from.

Rosie Crust, education and development officer for the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, said: “We launched Countryside Lincs as we were keen to have an event which appealed purely to children.

“We have such a wide variety of events at the Showground all year round, but this is our first which we have created exclusively for kids.”
