Resurfacing work will be carried out to a busy Lincoln city centre junction next weekend.

The junction of West Parade and The Avenue will be fully closed for the resurfacing from 8pm on Saturday, June 18, until 6am on Monday, June 20.

A signed diversion will be in place, directing traffic via Carholme Road, Saxilby Road and Long Leys Road.

Advance warning signs are on site.

Steve Brooks, senior project leader said: “We want to keep our roads in good condition, to make sure they remain safe for drivers. This junction is on a busy route and has deteriorated through wear and tear.

“We’ll be carrying out the improvements at night and over Sunday, when there isn’t much traffic about, to keep disruption to a minimum.

“And it should be re-opened in time for the Monday morning rush hour.”
