Three Lincoln businessmen have been shortlisted in the Institute of Directors (IoD) 2016 East Midlands awards.

Some 21 business leaders have made it into the shortlist for the awards after applications were received from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire for the region’s top awards scheme, which recognises excellence and enterprise in the boardroom.

The shortlisted directors from Lincoln are:

  • Malcolm Barham, Chief Executive of YMCA Lincolnshire
  • Darren Crookes, Managing Director of Acorn Partitions and Storage Systems Ltd (read his cover interview in Lincolnshire Business)
  • Chris Trigg, Managing Director of Crucis Consultants Ltd

The 21 shortlisted candidates will be competing for ten different regional awards and the judging panel will make a special award to the overall Director of the Year East Midlands 2016.

Winners of the awards will be announced at the East Midlands Director of the Year Awards 2016 presentation lunch at Nottingham Conference Centre, Nottingham Trent University hosted by BBC East Midlands presenter Dominic Heale on Thursday, June 30.

Ron Lynch, IoD East Midlands Regional Director, said: “We have a stunning line up of people from the East Midlands who entered the competition. The awards celebrate the achievements of the region’s most hardworking and innovative business leaders and are open to both IoD members and non-members of director level or equivalent status.”
