A607 near Lincoln closed after tractor fire

The A607 at Harmston will remain closed on Tuesday, August 9 after a tractor and trailer carrying straw bales caught alight.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A607 and A15 while the area is cleared and any damages to the road are assessed and repaired.

Fire crews from Waddington, Metheringham and Lincoln South attended the substantial blaze just before 2pm on Monday, August 8.

The fire was extinguished with the use of three hosereel jets and breathing apparatus.

Relief crews were in attendance long into the evening.

Update:

The road was reopened on the evening of August 9 after the road was resurfaced.

The A607 has been resurfaced following the tractor fire.
