A Post Office in Lincoln will get a fresh new look as well as extend its services and opening times by 60 hours later this week.

The store, which closed for refurbishment on August 3, will reopen at 1pm on Friday, August 12 at 42 Hykeham Road, Lincoln.

The Post Office service will be available during the extended opening hours between 6:30am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 8pm on Sundays.

The shop was previously open 9am -5.30 on week days, closed at 12.30pm on Saturdays and closed completely on Sundays, meaning the shop will now be open for an additional 60 hours.

It will feature an open-plan counter and customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mail services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.

Area Manager Caroline Pritchard said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
